Mental Health First Aid

Our standard (Adult) Mental Health First Aid Training is designed as an early-intervention course, equipping participants with mental health literacy and practical skills needed to support someone experiencing a mental health problem or experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or crisis. 


The course looks at support options and how to activate them.

Delivered over two six-hour days or three to four-hour sessions.

Delivery method: face-to-face, combination online + face-to-face, or online.

Minimum age to do this course is 18.

Course objectives

INTERVENE EARLY

Recognise the warning signs of mental health problems in other adults


PROVIDE SKILLS

Provides skills needed to speak openly and accurately about mental health


RESPOND IN A CRISIS

Respond across a range of crisis situations where an adult may be at risk of harm


REDUCE STIGMA

Reduce stigma and increase support for those experiencing and living with mental health problems



Our training will provide you with a practical, evidence-based action plan.

What you will learn

After attending our mental health first aid training, you will recognise when a person is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis and be able to provide initial support and assistance until the person in crisis attains professional support.  

Our mental health training covers the following areas: 

> Depression
> Anxiety
> Psychosis
> Substanceuse

Crises covered in our short courses in mental health:

> Suicidal thoughts and behaviours

> Non-suicidal self-injury

> Panic attacks

> Traumatic events

> Severe psychotic states

> Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use

> Aggressive behaviours

After completing the course successfully, you will receive a certificate of accreditation valid for three years. We also make refresher courses available. Increase your knowledge and improve the well-being of those who cross your path by attending our mental health first aid course.

Consult

We will arrange for a 30 minute consult. We will provide some questions for you to consider and discuss during our consult. This allows us to understand your situation and determine how to roll out our training.

After the training session

Feedback

We will provide you with pre and post survey results and additional feedback from the participants.

Payment

Once we have completed the process we will invoice for payment.
